Art With Purpose

A Platform for Transformation

At Designed Conviction, we believe that creativity can spark change—even behind bars. Our mission is to uplift voices often left unheard by showcasing art by individuals impacted by incarceration and creating opportunities for expression, growth, and healing.

Across the country, talented men and women reside within prison walls, their stories locked away with them. Through our programs, we unlock that potential, sharing powerful artwork and stories with the world—reminding us all of our shared humanity.

Giving a Voice to the Incarcerated

Designed Conviction is more than a brand—it’s a movement. Founded by incarcerated artist Taylor Tom, our organization provides a platform where individuals impacted by the justice system can be seen and heard. We focus on giving a voice to the incarcerated by publishing their art, essays, and poetry in our magazine and digital spaces.

These voices are not just messages from behind the walls—they are calls for understanding, empathy, and change. By listening and sharing, we disrupt stigmas and create space for second chances.

Rehabilitation Through Art

Art heals. It allows individuals to process pain, rebuild self-worth, and envision new possibilities. That’s why we center our work on rehabilitation through art—not as a luxury, but as a lifeline.

Through workshops in visual art, music, and creative writing, we equip incarcerated individuals with tools to explore their identity and channel their experiences into something meaningful. These creative outlets foster emotional resilience and offer an alternative path to personal transformation, accountability, and healing.

Supporting Formerly Incarcerated

We believe that release should not mean rejection. When the cell doors open, the road ahead is often steep—filled with barriers to employment, housing, and community. But creativity doesn’t end at release.

Designed Conviction continues to support second chances for the formerly incarcerated through resources and  collaborative art opportunities. Our aim is to create dignity-driven pathways where individuals can rebuild their lives with purpose and support.

Bridging Worlds

The “Bridging Worlds: Art from Behind Bars” exhibit showcases the creativity of incarcerated individuals, sharing their stories to challenge stigmas and highlight the power of personal transformation through art.

Supporting Families

50% of proceeds will benefit “Left Behind and Without,” a non-profit providing vital resources to children of incarcerated parents, helping them overcome emotional and financial challenges.
