The Power of Art Behind Bars

Founded by incarcerated artist Taylor Tom, Designed Conviction Magazine began as a vision to unite individuals doing positive things with their time. Through powerful visuals, compelling stories, poetry, and personal reflections, this magazine showcases the incredible resilience and creativity of those often forgotten by society.

Each issue of the magazine is filled with:

  • 🎨 Original art by incarcerated creators

  • ✍️ Poetry and personal essays

  • πŸ’‘ Insights into rehabilitation through creativity

  • πŸ“š Inspirational journeys and success stories

By highlighting these voices, we not only support individual growth and healing, but also challenge societal perceptions of incarceration.

Why It Matters

Incarcerated individuals often struggle with identity, isolation, and a lack of purpose. Art offers a therapeutic outletβ€”a way to reconnect with the self, develop new skills, and build self-worth. Designed Conviction Magazine is part of a broader movement to humanize the justice-involved population and foster rehabilitation through meaningful engagement.

Through every subscription and every shared story, we’re building a bridge between those inside and the communities outside. This publication is proof that transformation is possible, and that talent knows no bars.

Unlocking Human Potential in the Face of Incarceration

Mass incarceration often buries human potential. This magazine proves otherwiseβ€”every page is proof that people can transform, contribute, and create beauty, no matter their circumstances.
