brown boat on sea near brown mountains under gray clouds

If the individual were a ship,
Emotions the choppy Sea,
Principles could be your rudder,
Truly guiding Thee.
Self-control could steer you Home,
Discipline keeps you free,
Strength and Courage at the wheel,
Persevering righteously.
So as you stand before the mast,
With Pride and Dignity,
One should always ask One’s Self,
What kind of a man do I want to be?
Do I want to continue being tossed about,
Remaining lost adrift in a stormy sea,
Or stay the course and sail my way
Towards a life lived well and honorably.

I think everyone experiences points in our journey where we lack control over one thing or another but as long as keep fighting and do not give up then we can live with no regrets. Really love how your poem inspires and creates a whirlwind of emotions for me.
